NubAbility Athletics Camp 2019

Image
I’m home from NubAbility Camp! This year we had 170+ limb different campers with 60+ limb different coaches! It was such an honor to get to coach these wonderful kiddos again. We played lots of tennis and soccer, laughed a ton, and made so many memories. On the first night of camp, one of my players won a raffle and picked me to be dunked in the dunk tank! I love my players so much and I’m so proud to know them.

Microsoft Super Bowl Advertisement

Image
I hope many of you saw Microsoft's Super Bowl commercial regarding their new Xbox Adaptive Controller . The Ad reached #3 on USA Today's Super Bowl Ad Meter ! This controller provides gaming accessibility for individuals facing challenging physical conditions. First of all, I am so incredibly proud of the level of publicity the advertisement reached. It's totaled millions of views, and I believe a Super Bowl commercial signifies one of the largest campaigns for limb difference awareness the world has seen! I think it will give kids a new sense of pride in themselves to know they're not alone, and the "big guys" care about the problems they face so much they decided to make it easier for them to play video games with their friends. A Chance Encounter That Changed Lives

I got to know Tori, her sisters, and her mom at NubAbility this summer. I'm so happy for the Anderson's! This is God's work and exactly what I needed to see on my Facebook feed tonight. Watch the video of Tori and her dad on Steve Harvey: A Chance Encounter That Changed Lives

Birthday Meet-ups

On my birthday I got to reunite with Coach Kyle whom I coached alongside this summer at NubAbility. My high school soccer team played the girls team at the school he coaches for. I scored too! It was so great to get to see him again!

NubAbilty Sports Camp 2018

This week, I got the privilege of coaching the most amazing kiddos in the world at  NubAbility ! We learned some soccer and some shoe tying, but most importantly, we learned how to overcome obstacles the world sets on us and the ones we set on ourselves. It was so moving to witness these campers’ confidence swell over the course of the week. I was so proud to show these kids their differences don’t have to be disabling– that they are perfectly capable to play sports at any level of competition they desire. NubAbility hosted 179 limb different campers last week and all of them were phenomenal!
